There is no documentation confiming the writer of this song on this score. Spanish Eyes is adapted from the song Moon Over Naples written by Bert Kaempfert (1964). Lyrics were added by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder (1965). Ken McCoy arranged this song in 1990 as a vocal solo with band for the US Army Field Band under Colonel William E. Clark, 1979-1991. Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
