Streisand is a medley of songs performed by Barbara Streisand. These songs are included in the medley: 1. The Way We Were written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, and Marvin Hamlisch in 1973; 2. Second Hand Rose was written by Grant Clarke and James F. Hanley in 1921; 3. People written by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill in 1964 for the Broadway musical Funny Girl; 4. Don't Rain On My Parade was also written by Bob Merrill and Jule Styne in 1964 for Funny Girl. Ken McCoy arranged this medley for a vocalist with the orchestra in 1986 for the Boca Raton Symphoinc "Pops" Orchestra under Mark Azzolina. It is in a US Army Field Band spiral binder. Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
