Description |
Richard Rodgers is a medley of songs composed by the Broadway composer of the same name. He composed music between 1925-1959. The following songs are included: There's A Small Hotel (1936), Have You Met Miss Jones (1937), It Might Have Well Been Spring (actually titled It Might As Well Be Spring) (1945), My Funny Valentine (1937), and Lover (1933). Ken McCoy arranged this medley in 1988 for the US Army Field Band under Colonel William E. Clark, 1979-1991. Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
