Description |
Kismet was a play written by Edward Knoblock in 1911. It was adapted into a Broadway musical in 1953 by Robert C. Write and George Forrest by incorporating music from Russian composer Alexander Borodin. Songs included in this medley from the musical are Stranger in Paradise, Baubles, Bangles and Beads, and This is My Beloved. Ken McCoy arranged this medley in 1990 for the US Army Field Band under Colonel William E. Clark, 1979-1991. All Rights Reserved Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
