Reflections is a medley of the songs 1. Monnlight Serenade written by Glen Miller in 1943, 2. Night & Day written by Cole Porter in 1932 for the musical Gay Divorce, and 3. Stardust written by Hoagy Carmichael and Mitchell Parish. Ken McCoy arranged the medley as a vocal medley with band in 1981 for the US Army Field Band under Lieutnenant Colonel William E. Inc. copyright Renewed All Rights Reserved. Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
