Dreams is a medley for concert band and vocalist consisting of: 1. If Ever I Would Leave You written by Frederick Loewe for the Broadway musical Camelot; 2. On A Clear Day wirtten by Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner for the 1965 musical On A Clear Day You Can See Forever; 3. Impossible Dream was written by Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion in 1965 for the Broadway musical Man of La Mancha. Ken McCoy arranged the Dreams score in 1979 for the US Army Field Band under Maj. W. E. By Special Permission of the Sam Fox Publishing Company, Inc., Sole Agents. This is a duplicate of the original score. Ken McCoy graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. After earning his degree in music education, he taught instrumental music for four years in public schools. In 1977, he accepted a position with the United States Field Band as a staff arranger and eventually was promoted to Chief Arranger. McCoy's arrangements and compositions have been performed in all 50 US states and several foreign countries. In 1995, he joined the Ohio State University Marching Band Staff and arranged at least one full half time show per year for the band culminating with his 23rd show in 2017. Ken McCoy passed away January 11, 2018. |
